Chevrolet Monza For Sale – Very Rare Street Machine Opportunity Finish this Restoration for Your Own Cool Ride
... well this could be the right project for you ..
We were on a mission to do a restoration project with this Chevrolet Monza to make this one cool ride .... A boulevard cruiser – or a complete custom ride that you did all your own way ?
Especially if you are back in the Midwestern United States ... or some of you in the Detroit area this would be a killer car to complete for the 2018 Woodward Dream Cruise event ..
Have you seen all the hype around the car auctions lately ? - Well maybe you could complete this Monza and take it to one of the Barrett-Jackson Auctions in 2018 – and then my jaw will drop when you sell it for $30k or so ....
After nearly ten years of off and on restoration work I've decided to part with this project We are very busy with our Motorsports Business and with our three Coyote Hillclimb Racing Cars .. Not to mention a growing garage of Motorcycle projects ... You get the idea ... Too many other irons in the fire.. Something had to go .. and so now you get this great opportunity.
So here is the history of this Monza Mirage so far – waiting for you to create your own history with the Monza
1977 Monza Mirage - 305 V8 Automatic Bone stock stuff here. The goal was a restoration not a custom. Minimal changes have been made to the car to keep that going forward.
Purchased some years ago and started the 'minor restoration' - like most things it went way deeper.
Today the car needs to be completed. The body is extremely sound and rust free. A front corner of the unibody was sectioned on it from a minor crunch. The underside is overly detailed with plenty of powder coat and under coat (not hiding any rust either...)
The engine was complete rebuilt by Basko Engins (Gilbert AZ), the Trans by AZ Transmissions. All the suspension gone over and rebuilt. Rear-end freshened.
All the plastic body parts are here including the chin spoiler. The plastic body molding strips also- a small chip in one, the piece is here somewhere also! Carpet kit is here, all the seats have been professionally restored to OEM spec with correct materials. Door hinges repaired and re-bushed. Underside is detailed with a ton of powder coating (it's cheap) and much of the hardware is either replaced or has been zinc plated. All the glass is here. Lighting and exterior trim, louvers etc. all here. (no rear window louvers, sorry) And on,. and on..and on..
Overall the parts to complete this car are about 95% or more here. The work needs to be done. It's been on my rack in my shop for over a year without anything being done to it. I hate to see it go but I need the space.
Can't begin to be certain how many dollars I have invested in this to date $12- 15K maybe? Never saved receipts and I don't want to know.
The car is ready to be completed and on to a new life in the show/club circuit. I've put hundreds of hours and thousands into it thus far - you get the benefits immediately.
As you look through the images you can see many of the current images - as well as the repairs made, changes, improvements etc. - Also shown are two of the images upon arrival here at my shop.
*****The completed car images are those taken before the restoration began. The car is currently a roller only****
Needs: paint, decals, interior assembly, dash covering, final suspension assembly, started up, brake master cylinder fit and bled, assembly..assembly..assembly...my loss is your gain.
Few More Thoughts: Manifolds are Jethot coated Wheels polished (outside) Tires are race rubber for roller purpose only Seats are recovered and bagged Door panels are recovered and bagged Have much of the rubber purchased from Clyde over the years Headliner is redone and at home No dash plaque Have MAT door sticker Title is open and from WS Mileage: 106,057 Transmission: ATX
More info: Car had A/C, compressor is questionable New heater core Have new carburetor etc for the motor, it's pretty complete No exhaust system Fuel tank was 'hot tanked' so it should be good...get a good filter! Has the new motor mounts Have piles of parts, hardware and other items that are either new, or rebuilt etc All the bumper covers are here and in good shape Lighting is all here and hen picked for good ones New steering shaft fabricated post OEM junk being non repairable (think Borgeson parts) Rear brakes are NOT done...those springs and crap look scary...
Car resides on some junk springs for now that are cut down for easy install and removal now, originals here
Interior floor has a number of sound panels in places, stuff is too heavy to do it all, should work well now with pad Have spare wheel and tire (original) More louvers, misc items etc in boxes upstairs
The Price Takes It All - From bumper cover to carpet kit to any last nut and bolt I have for this. I want it gone. No trades - No Tire Kickers - No Low ballers... it's worth this or more. Someone could put another $7-10k into this and have a sweet ride
