The Aston Martin Lagonda Limited Group is certainly being talked about a great deal these days.

There has been much mention and suggestion about a possible sale or even a stock IPO.

Either way the Aston Martin brand is definitely back in the know and go and very fashionable these days.

Personally, we have always had major endearment towards the Aston Martin Marque. It probably started years ago, when as a young boy our family used to frequent a restaurant in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – it was called Frank Bakers. This restaurant had one of the original James Bond – you know, Bond, James Bond – 007 Aston Martin DB-5’s that was used in the movie Goldfinger.

This wonderful car was surrounded by a glass enclosure viewing area at the front of the restaurant – just perfect for young boys like myself to press our noses against in amazement.

Years later as our career progressed in the automotive industry – we even wrote to the headquarters of Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell, England to discuss the possibility of working for them. They sent back a very nice letter with an invitation to come visit. Sure wish I could find that letter today !

Fast forward to today – there is certainly much talk about the Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar, which will supposedly be listing somewhere around the $2.6 million dollar mark or so.

Well…. you could have a great deal of fun with this racing version of this Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Racing Car for a whole lot less than whatever the final dollar numbers are on the Valkyrie.

Sort of reminds me of the great I Love Lucy TV shows – where Lucy comes home to Ricky with about $400 plus worth of dresses ( remember this is back in the fifties and sixties ! ) and Lucy proceeds to tell Ricky – “but look how much money we saved honey !” …

“Oooooh Lucy !” … was all I think that Ricky Ricardo could muster in response.

This Aston Martin Chassis Number 012 – has been raced in the Pirelli World Challenge Series and campaigned by – as well as maintained by the very well-known TRG – The Racers Group – out of Petaluma California.

Kevin Buckler and his team have the prestigious honor of holding the record for most wins in podiums of any independent GT Team in North American Sports Car Racing History.

We first had the pleasure of meeting Kevin Buckler back in 1995 when he debuted in IMSA series Road Racing Endurance Competition. We were doing Performance Development Driver Coaching and doing some Driving and Racing with one of Kevin’s closest competitors at the time .
